A product of Real Madrid’s youth academy, Tejero quickly rose through the ranks to join Castilla in 2015 and make his first-team debut that same year in a Copa del Rey match in Cádiz. The following season marked his debut in LALIGA EA SPORTS, and he concluded his time with Real Madrid in 2018 after five appearances with the first team.

After being loaned to Albacete Balompié for the 2018–19 season—where he performed exceptionally well and helped the team reach the promotion playoffs for the Primera División—he signed with S.D. Eibar in 2019 to play in the top flight. He spent four seasons with Eibar, with a loan stint at Real Zaragoza in 2020 in between,

His standout performances at Ipurua led him back to LALIGA EA SPORTS in 2024 with R.C.D. Espanyol, for whom he played 29 matches during the 2024–25 season. Last season, he played for Aris Thessaloniki, totaling nearly 3,000 minutes of playing time in 37 official matches.
