Last weekend, the area surrounding the Ontime Butarque Stadium hosted the Madrid Salvaje urban music festival, organized by “The Music Republic,” drawing more than 40,000 young people from Madrid between Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, who enjoyed the scheduled activities and concerts.
For 48 hours, the Ontime Butarque Stadium thus became the heart of urban music in Madrid, featuring two dedicated stages and a vibrant ecosystem of music, rap, and various expressions of urban culture where thousands of young people interacted.
Holding the festival at the Ontime Butarque Stadium has fostered a connection with the surrounding community that has extended beyond the stages. One example of this was the collaboration between Madrid Salvaje, Lega, and Puma on a special festival T-shirt, hundreds of which have been sold and which is still available at the club’s official store—a piece that brings together music, soccer, and fashion.
Delaossa, Fernando Costa, Foyone, Nadal015, Anier, Krisan, and Lorna were among the more than thirty-five artists featured at the festival. In addition, all attendees were able to enjoy dedicated spaces such as the Ring by Plata o Plomo—which combined rap battles, boxing, and musical performances—and the Urban Park, which offered the public a more active role through activities like sing-offs and open basketball. Attendees also enjoyed a diverse culinary lineup.
Thus, the Ontime Butarque Stadium successfully wraps up an event that establishes it as a multifunctional venue capable of hosting everything from major sporting events to renowned festivals like Madrid Salvaje in a safe, accessible, and welcoming environment.
