C.D. Leganés has reached an agreement with Carlos Martínez for his return to the "pepinero" dugout. The former blanquiazul player and manager returns to lead the first team in this Sunday's monumental match (21:00 CET) against C.D. Mirandés.
At 45 years old, the Llerena native returns to Ontime Butarque directly from Saudi Arabia, where he was undergoing his latest professional chapter. He previously managed the first team during the final eight matchdays of the 2022/23 season, successfully securing survival in LALIGA HYPERMOTION. Prior to that, he spent two and a half seasons at the helm of Leganés 'B' and was part of the first-team coaching staff alongside Javier Aguirre.
As a player, Carlos Martínez was one of the most beloved figures among the "pepinero" fanbase, defending the laurel crest for five seasons across two separate stints (2007-2010 and 2012-2014). He made 155 official appearances and captained the squad during the historic promotion to the Second Division in 2014 at L'Hospitalet.
¡Welcome back, Carlos!
